How can I help my cat?

In this blog we’ll look at how you can help your cat. It’s not about litter trays, it’s about looking within. It’s about helping you to see that you always have a choice in how you show up for your cat. Let’s look at how your energy affects them both mentally and physically, and why you may need a time out!

Everything is made of energy. My bookcase, your computer, the plants in your house, the food you eat, your car, your body. It may be different forms of energy, but everything comes from and is made of energy.

If we bring this perspective to ourselves we must take time to understand that we create, process and release energy. You eat food…you use up energy. When you digest food, you both use and create energy. When you remove the waste from your body you use energy.

So we can literally see how the physical body manages energy. Yet for some people when it comes to connecting with the energy generated from our thoughts or emotions they can’t fully understand that it has power. But it does.

What’s your vibe?

Ok so if you’re still with me on the energy train let’s look at it in a little more detail. Energy is made up of frequency and vibration. Vibration is how the energy moves. How often that energy moves is measured in its frequency. Frequency is measured in hertz (Hz).

Vibration and frequency are often interchangeable! You may hear people say, “raise your vibe” or “change your frequency.” EVERYTHING has its own frequency.

Emotions are made of energy. E-motion. Energy in motion. Did you know that when measured, shame and guilt have a frequency of 20-30 Hz. Yet love and gratitude have a frequency of over 500Hz!

That’s why people say that showing, feeling and sharing gratitude is one of the best ways to improve your mood or raise your vibration.

Energy Moves

Energy is always moving, as I’ve mentioned above everything has its own frequency. But when we talk about energy moving it also moves in, out and around us. Let me give you an example.

When you are enjoying cuddles with your cat you’re going to be in a pretty high vibration. All loved up with them, enjoying the fluff, floof, connection and contact.

If they do something you don’t like such as attacking another cat, scratching somewhere you’re not fond of or making a mess, your vibration is going to drop. You’re probably going to be annoyed, frustrated or maybe even angry. These are very dense vibration emotions.

The emotions that you feel are one of the purest forms of energy. The energy that you feel, that you generate, moves through you. It comes out of you, whether you are conscious about it or not. And cats can feel it.

How is your vibration your cats problem?

Us cat guardians can sometimes focus on the wrong things. Yes it’s important to have litter trays, feeding stations, a good diet, toys, enrichment, places to sleep etc. And don’t get me wrong it is essential we provide those things for our beloved cats.


What are you doing about the energy your cat receives from you?

How do you think it feels to be around angry, sad, depressed, frustrated, despairing energy? I bet it can feel like a bit of a struggle. Do you have that friend who zaps your energy? Someone who you can only spend a few hours with because you feel wiped after being with them.

That’s all down to the energy exchange you are part of with them. And it’s the same with our cats. We receive their energy, and they receive ours.

So, what do you do to manage your energy? To raise/change or deal with your vibration.

Don’t judge

Before the haters get in touch and tell me that life can’t be all rainbows and Unicorns every day, let me be clear.

I know that.

I have shared with you all before that I manage anxiety. Daily.

I don’t write this blog sitting on my cloud living in a high vibe 24/7. In fact it’s quite the opposite. 90% of the time it’s a conscious choice to change my vibration. To find out where I am, feel into what’s going on for me in that moment and then process/release the emotions, leading me to manage my vibration. I choose to move from worry to hope, despair to belief…when I can.

And do you know what’s great…You can choose too!

Management of my mental, emotional and energetic health is a daily, and sometimes hourly task. It’s not simply changing my thoughts. At times it can be letting my emotions come out, having a long snotty cry. Or withdrawing into myself. Sometimes changing my vibration is ugly, hard and downright difficult.

But I do it because not only does it benefit me, but it benefits my boys.

The more I make time to come into a high(er) vibration the more cuddles, contact and connection I have with my cats. Just yesterday I meditated (although I really wanted to zone out with my box set), and this was how the boys shared in the change of my vibration.

Who doesn’t want snuggles!? This doesn’t happen every single time I meditate but having hope that it might helps to get my butt under the blanket to shift my energy.

So my love, take a nice deep breath. Notice how you feel in this moment and see what you can sense about your vibration. It may be the key to your connection with your cat.

And if you are feeling stressed, take some time out. Take a moment to move your body or take a breath. It’s OK to nurture yourself.
